There are tribute bands and there is Maiden uniteD. Started by Joey Bruers of the Iron Maiden tribute band Up The Irons, as 'doing something special' at an Iron Maiden Fanclub convention in Dynamo, Eindhoven (NL) in 2006. It felt so right that after many shows, a band was formed and an album was recorded.
With none other than Damian Wilson on vocals and Ruud jolie (Within Temptation) on guitars and Anneke van Giersbergen as guest vocalist, this raised high expectations. The debut album 'Mind the Acoustic Pieces' was an acoustic interpretation of the 'Piece of Mind' album. Those who thought it was a one album gig, is very much mistaken, as the band announced try-out shows for a second album, 'Across the Seventh Sea'.
When the band played (again) in Dynamo, it was the perfect opportunity to have a chat with Joey Bruers and Ruud Jolie about Iron Maiden and Maiden uniteD.
